GORHAM, Maine – The Castleton University women's volleyball dropped a pair of matches including its Little East Conference opener on Saturday at the University of Southern Maine.
The Spartans opened the day with a 3-0 loss to the Huskies, falling 25-16, 25-18, 25-12 in conference action. Castleton then dueled Suffolk in a neutral-site match, falling 25-11, 25-10, 25-18. Castleton sits at 2-6 overall and 0-1 in league play. USM is 2-7 after dropping the late match to Suffolk, and Suffolk is 8-2 after winning both matches on the day.
Hailey Martinovich had a team-leading 14 kills across two matches followed by 10 from
Vanessa LeBrun.
Maddie Delsignore amassed 28 assists on the day and
Mackenzie Wade led all Spartans with 26 total digs. Lebrun added 19 digs of her own.
Castleton is back at home on Thursday night against SUNY Cobleskill at 7 p.m.
