CASTLETON, Vt. – After putting together a career-best 2021-22 campaign, Castleton women's hockey's Ryanne Mix has been selected to the NEHWA All-Star Team, as released by the association last Tuesday. The senior is joined by 18 other student-athletes across New England, and is the seventh Spartan in program history to earn the honor.

A leader for Castleton on both sides of the ice, Mix was a key cog in a year that saw the Spartans finish with their highest win total since 2015 and reach the New England Hockey Conference Championship game for the first time since the 2018-19 season.

In 26 games for Castleton, the Pasco, Wash. native tallied two goals to go along with a career-best 13 assists, more than doubling her point total from her previous three seasons combined and earning her the second spot in program history for points by a defensemen in a single season with 15.

Combined with her improved offensive game, Mix was also a brick wall for Castleton in their own zone, setting career-highs in blocked shots (52) and plus-minus (+16), both of which were top-marks on the team. Leading the Spartans to a conference-best penalty kill percentage of 91.6, the also earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team.

Mix concludes her Castleton career with 29 points — the sixth most by a defensemen in program history — on seven goals and 22 assists over 90 games, soldifiying herself as one of the best defenders to come through the Spartans' program.
