ELLINGTON, Conn. – The Castleton University men's golf team earned runner-up at the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Golf Championship Friday afternoon, with a two-day score of 631 (317-314) at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Connecticut.

Senior Nick Ojala and sophomore Brady Hathorn tied for third place to earn All-LEC recognition — given to the tournament's top-five finishers — each shaving off three strokes from Thursday's outing to card a pair of 75s on Day 2 and end with a final tally of 153.

Sophomore Brandon Picard finished close behind in 7th place, shooting a 78 Friday to bring his Championship total up to 159, with Andrew Stefura rounding out the team scoring with an 87 on Day 2, placing him in 18th with two-day total of 167. Matt Redmond, who did not participate in the action on Day 1, carded an 86 on Day 2.

Eastern Connecticut State defended its title with a two-round total of 615 (311-304). Southern Maine placed third with a score of 653 (327-326), followed by Rhode Island College (654), Western Connecticut (695) and Keene State (704). EastConn's Ashton Lewis took home medalist honors, carding a weekend-best 71 Thursday and 74 Friday to bring his two-day total to 145.
