CASTLETON, Vt. -- The Castleton University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 Little East Conference (LEC) contest to Rhode Island College Friday afternoon at the Castleton Tennis Courts.
 
Regina Marchese and 
Grace Sharkey led the charge for the Spartans during doubles play as the duo won two games before falling 8-2 to Jenna Lisi and Victoria Vittori at the first doubles flight. Both the second and third doubles flights dropped 8-0 decisions, as the Spartans quickly fell behind 3-0.
 
Sharkey and 
Aliza Bogner ground out games during singles play as both won one game apiece. Bogner earned a game in the first set before falling 6-1, 6-0 to Hailey Raskob at second singles. Sharkey, competing at third singles, dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Lauren Macera.
 
Castleton returns to action Saturday, April 24, as the Spartans travel to Gorham, Maine to take on Southern Maine in a Little East Conference contest starting at 1 p.m.
