POMFRET, Vt. – The Castleton University men's alpine ski team took to the course at Suicide Six in Pomfret on Thursday, competing in a single FIS Slalom race.
The Spartans had four entrants in the race, but difficult course conditions saw three of those entrants fail to finish the first run. In total, 55 racers in the 100-man field failed to finish on the day.
Castleton's only finisher was Christopher Kerven, who sat in 30th place after the first run, but laid down the second-fastest second run of the day to move up 10 spots and finish 20th. He finished the session with a combined time of 1:42.27 after runs of 49.98 and 52.05.
