Box Score DANBURY, Conn. - The Castleton women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 contest at Western Connecticut State Saturday afternoon despite winning efforts from
Makayla Boisvert and
Camille Jackson.
The Boisvert/Jackson pair delivered the Spartans' lone doubles victory on the third court. They cruised to an 8-0 victory and took that momentum into singles action.Â
Boisvert competed at No. 5 singles and claimed a resurgent three-set victory. She dropped the opening set before posting a pair of 6-2 wins in the second and third sets. Jackson cruised to a straight-sets win at No. 6 singles.
Grace Sharkey nearly won at No. 4 singles, but dropped the third set after extending the match with a strong second set. Sharkey, along with
Megan Brier, dropped an 8-7 nail-biter at No. 2 doubles.Â
The Spartans are set to host UMass Boston at Castleton Tennis Courts Wednesday, October 6. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
