Castleton started strong, leading by as many as seven points throughout portions of the first half. A three by Diakite gave the Spartans an 11-4 lead just less than six minutes in, and Roy again put Castleton up seven with a three of his own with 8:15 to play in the first half. The Cadets took over late in the frame, however, going on a 12-0 run capped by a three from Davis to go ahead by double-digits, 36-25. Roy answered with another three for Castleton, but a pair of late free throws sent Norwich into the locker rooms leading 38-28.

Norwich gradually pulled away in the second half, extending its lead to as many as 17 at the midway point before pushing the advantage to a game-high 24 points with just 2:25 to play. Castleton had a brief 5-0 run with just less than eight to play as Almeida dropped in a layup and Brown drilled a three, but the Spartans were unable to put any other runs together. A late layup by D'Andre Daniel gave the game its final score, 70-48, as neither side scored in the final 90 seconds.

Castleton returns to action Tuesday at SUNY-Delhi at 6 p.m. in non-conference action.
