Box Score CASTLETON, Vt. – The Spartans started slow and never fully rebounded as they dropped their regular season finale by a 3-0 margin at Norwich on Wednesday evening.
Castleton hit -.056 and dropped the first set 25-14 before falling 25-20 in the second. The Spartans were back-and-forth with the Cadets in the final set, and made a run to pull within one later, 24-23, before Norwich pulled out the win, 25-23.
Senior Kaylee Pratt was a bright spot for the offense, hitting .267 with seven kills and two digs. Cassidy Tedeschi had six kills and seven digs while Brittany Brayman recorded five kills but hit just .000 with seven digs. Michaela Babineau dished off ten assists and had two aces in one set while Alex Madsen added six assists.
For the Cadets, Tara Lyons hit. 333 with 12 kills and five digs. Alex Ruediger added six kills and nine digs while Emily Oliver dished off a team-high 27 assists to go with eight digs and three aces.
Castleton is off until Friday, Nov. 6 when the team plays Maine Maritime in the North Atlantic Conference Semifinals at Colby-Sawyer College.
