Women's Tennis Improves to 2-1

CASTLETON, Vt. – Castleton's women's tennis team defeated Green Mountain, who is playing in its inaugural season, 9-0, improving the team's record to 2-1 on the season. 

The Spartans, who earlier in the day were picked to finish second in the NEAC East Division, dominated the contest, winning every match in straight sets. Castleton had three singles and two doubles matches where the players did not lose a single point.

Senior Meghan Susslin led the way, winning the No. 1 singles match and improving her overall record to 2-0 in singles action. Susslin and her partner Shannon Haggerty picked up their first doubles victory of the season as they won the No. 1 singles match 8-0.

Kaydeen Juaire and Olga McIntyre improved their singles records to 2-0, and the two also paired together for the first time this season, winning their doubles match 8-2.

The women's tennis team will be in action again on Saturday when they host Lyndon St. for a non-conference matchup that begins at 1 pm.
