CASTLETON, Vt. – The Spartans improved to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division after beating Johnson St. for the second time this season, 8-1.

Leading the way for Castleton was Meghan Susslin who improved to 5-4 this season with a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the No. 1 singles match. Olga McIntyre notched her third consecutive singles victory with a 6-4, 6-1 win, while Sara Novenstern and Taylor Reynolds both recorded straight sets victories.

In doubles action, the tandem of Reynolds and Kaydeen Juaire moved to 4-1 on the season after grabbing an 8-1 win in the third flight doubles match. McIntyre and Novenstern recorded an 8-2 victory in the No. 2 singles match, giving the duo a team-high fifth doubles victory on the season.

Castleton returns to the courts next Wednesday when they host Green Mountain for a conference match starting at 5 pm.
