GORHAM, Me. – The Spartans grabbed their second consecutive victory and sixth win in their last seven matches at Southern Maine on Sunday to improve to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in North Eastern Atlantic Conference (NEAC) East Division action this season.

Olga McIntyre was Castleton's top performer against the Huskies, winning a singles match in straight sets (6-1, 6-2) for the second time this weekend to move to 5-3 on the season.

Ruby Bushey continued her fine form for the Spartans, picking up a 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 6 singles match, while Shannon Haggerty notched her sixth singles victory (7-6, 6-1) of the season.

In doubles action, the tandem of Haggerty and Meghan Susslin picked up an 8-6 win in the No. 1 slot, while McIntyre and Sara Novenstern notched their team-leading fourth doubles victory of the season, 8-6.

Castleton returns to the courts next Saturday when they host Johnson St. for an NEAC East matchup beginning at 1 pm.
