WATERVILLE, Me. – The women's tennis team picked up their second North East Atlantic Conference East Division and sixth victory of the season on Saturday at Thomas, 5-4.
Olga McIntyre notched her fourth singles victory of the season, winning the second flight match 6-4, 0-6, 7-5. Freshman Shannon Haggerty improved to 5-3 in singles action with a straight sets (6-1, 6-2) victory in the No. 4 slot.
After being named NAC Player of the week, Kaydeen Juaire continued her impressive play, picking up a straight sets victory in the fifth flight singles match.
Ruby Bushey dominated in the No. 6 singles match, picking up her third victory of the season with a straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 victory.
In doubles action, Meghan Susslin and Haggerty notched an 8-6 victory in the first flight match to pick up their third win of the season, while McIntyre and Sara Novenstern recorded their fourth doubles victory of 2014, 8-6.
The Spartans return to the courts tomorrow when they face Southern Maine for a non-conference match beginning at noon.
