Box Score CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton women's tennis team opened North East Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division play today by beating MCLA 5-4. The victory improves the team's record to 5-1 (1-0 NAC) on the season and is the Spartans fourth consecutive win.
Meghan Susslin once again pulled off a hard-fought victory (6-4, 0-6, 6-4) in flight singles action for Castleton. With the win, the senior player is now 4-1 on the season in singles action.
Freshman Gabrielle Keyser maintained a perfect start in singles action to her collegiate tennis career, improving her record to 3-0. Keyser picked up the win in sixth flight singles, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles action, the combination of Olga McIntyre and Sara Novenstern picked up their third victory of the season, while seniors Taylor Reynolds and Kaydeen Juaire notched their third straight doubles win.
The Spartans return to the courts on Wednesday at 3:30 pm when they travel to Plymouth St. for a non-conference match.
