Spartans Fall in NAC Semifinals

BANGOR, Maine – Husson scored early and often as they played like a top seed with a 10-1 victory over No. 4 seed Castleton in the North Atlantic Conference Semifinals on Saturday evening. 

The Eagles finished with a 36-4 shot advantage and recorded 14 penalty corners as they improved to 8-8 on the year. The Spartans managed four corners as they conclude their season with a 2-15. 

Taylor Shaw broke a scoreless tie just 6:29 into the came on an unassisted goal. Taylor Lovely followed with a goal in the 12th minute and before the contest was 20 minutes old she had dished off assists to Elizabeth Terry and Sarah Eastman for a 4-0 advantage. 

The Eagles scored twice more in the first half, including another goal from Lovely. 

In the second Half, Husson pushed its lead to 7-0 at 37:01 and added three more goals to extend it to a 10-0 advantage. 

Senior Kristy Pinkham provided the lone Castleton tally in the 69th minute with her13th goal of the year. Classmate Jess Galatioto took the loss in net but was solid with 14 saves. 

Lovely finished with six points to lead Husson while Kaitlin Dolloff made one save on her way to victory.
