Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Castleton's women's tennis team finished its regular season on Sunday, improving to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the North Eastern Atlantic Conference East Division after beating Lyndon 7-2. With the win, the Spartans secured the No. 2 seed in the NEAC East conference tournament.
Against the Hornets, Castleton put on a dominating performance, winning all six of the singles matches, including five in straight sets, en route to the victory.
Meghan Susslin continues to perform at a high level for the Spartans, picking up her sixth singles victory of the season with a 6-0, 6-1 result in the No. 1 singles slot.
Fellow senior Olga McIntyre extended her wins total to a team-high 15 with a straight sets victory in the second flight singles match, while Shannon Haggerty improved to 8-4 on the season after recording a 6-0, 6-2 result.
In doubles play, the duo of Susslin and Haggerty were the only Castleton pair to produce a positive outcome as they won the first flight doubles match 8-3.
The Spartans continue their season next weekend when they face MCLA at Colby College in the NEAC East Semifinals.
