Volleyball Drops a Pair of Matches on Saturday

Castleton, Vt. – The Spartans were unable to win a set at Smith College on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to Lasell and then going down 3-0 to Western New England in their second match. 

In the opener Castleton was unable to generate consistent offense, losing 25-5, 25-10 and 25-18. Brittany Brayman led the offense with six kills while Kristi Lawless and Amanda Chambers led the team with 16 digs apiece 

Facing an unbeaten Golden Bears squad the Spartans dropped the first set 25-5. The Spartans were better in the final two sets, falling 25-15 and 25-13. Brayman finished with seven digs and four kills while Cassidy Tedeschi chipped in with nine digs. 

Castleton drops to 2-4 on the year. The Spartans return to action on Tuesday when they travel to SUNY Cobleskill for a 6 pm match.
