Waterville, Maine - Castleton traveled to Thomas College on Saturday, and earned an important 6-3 victory to open their North East Atlantic Conference schedule with a victory.

The Spartans took two of three doubles matches to jump out to an early lead. Chelsea Crehan and Meghan Susslin teamed to win 8-3 at second doubles, while Lauren Fedorka and Sara Novenstern earned an 8-4 third doubles victory.

The squad followed up with a solid performance in singles, winning four out of six flights, including a 6-0, 6-0 win from Susslin at fifth singles.

The Spartans improve to 2-2 overall, 1-0 in the NEAC and will return to action Sept. 12 at Plymouth St.
