New London, N.H. – The Castleton volleyball team saw their season come to an end at the hands of the Colby-Sawyer Chargers in the North Atlantic Conference semifinal match on Friday evening. The Spartans fell in straight sets, 3-0.

Castleton was led defensively by senior Nicole Valastro (So. Glens Falls, N.Y.) who had nine digs for the Spartans. The offense was only able to generate nine kills on the night, but freshman Amanda Chambers (Lake George, N.Y.) totaled five of them by herself.

Colby-Sawyer (17-13) maintained their impressive streak of conference play without dropping a set. The Chargers will face the winner of the other NAC semifinal match between Maine Maritime and Husson.

The Spartans end their season with a record of 9-12 overall, 4-3 in the NAC, earning a winning conference record for the first time since 2009, and won their first postseason contest since 2010.
