MADISON, N.J. – The Spartans were unable to find the back of the cage, falling to host Drew by a 3-0 margin on Tuesday afternoon in Madison.

Castleton finished the contest with 16 shots but couldn't get any past the goaltending combination of Christina Carlini (Amherst, N.H.) and Lauren Fasano (Branchville, N.J.). Spartan senior goaltender Bridget Dusha (Greenwich, N.Y.) countered with eight saves in net as the team lost its second straight non-conference contest.

The Rangers got on the board just 11:05 into the contest and then upped their lead to 2-0 at the 25:46 mark on freshman Angela Terracciano's second goal of the game. A score with just 32 seconds remaining in the first half made it a 3-0 contest.

Neither team was able to score in the second half though the Spartans did step up their offensive attack in the final 30 minutes after not recording a shot on goal in the first half of play. Castleton fired 15 of their 16 shots in the second half keeping Carlini busy in the cage. The sophomore made nine saves after relieving Fasano, who was credited with her third win of the year.

Drew improves to 9-5 with the victory while Castleton falls to 6-7 overall. The Spartans return to action on Saturday when the team travels to play the University of Maine at Farmington at 1 p.m.
