NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Castleton State College women's volleyball team was defeated by non-conference opponent Norwich University, 3-0, by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-21 on Thursday night at Andrews Hall.

The Cadets improve to 19-9. The Spartans fall to 7-12 overall on the season.

Freshman Chelsea Schlosser (Endicott, N.Y.) paced the offense with nine assists, three kills, four services and turned in a team-leading 13 digs. Ashley Kepaa (No. Attleboro, Mass.) added three kills, four assists, six digs and two block solos. Sarah Wheeler (Kinderhook, N.Y.) contributed with two kills, a team-leading six service aces and two digs.

Castleton returns to action on Saturday morning in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Quarterfinal round against Green Mountain in Glenbrook Gymnasium at 10:00 a.m. The winner of the contest goes on to play at top-seeded Maine Maritime on Friday, November 5 at a time to be determined later.
