Lyndonville, VT - Castleton State College placed four players in double-figures and forced 24 turnovers in an 81-67 win over Lyndon State in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's basketball action Tuesday evening.

A three-pointer by Malcolm Still (Lawnside, NJ) with 11:12 remaining in the first half gave Castleton a 22-20 lead, and the Spartans never trailed again in earning the win to improve to 8-5 overall and 2-0 in NAC action.

Castleton's balanced attack was able to offset the hot first-half shooting of Lyndon State's Ben Sackett (Lyndonville, VT) who canned 7-of-10 from three-point range over the opening 20 minutes to keep the Hornets in the contest.

Derick Faragon (Schenectady, NY) finished with a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Spartans. Greg Hughes (West Rutland, VT) went 4-for-8 from long distance in finishing with 16 points, while Mike Knight (Spring Valley, NY) and Still added 15 and 14 respectively.

Sackett ended up with a game-high 29 points on 9-for-15 shooting from beyond the arc, while Jason Gray (East Thetford, VT) added 18 points and seven rebounds for the 5-7, 1-1 NAC Hornets.

Castleton returns home for a 6:00 p.m. NAC meeting versus the 2009 champion Husson Eagles on Friday.
