Castleton stumbles at Thomas College

Waterville, ME – The Castleton State College men's basketball team dropped a 99-82 North Atlantic Conference matchup to Thomas College at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.

The win improves the Terriers record to 12-10 overall and 9-3 in the NAC. The loss for the Spartans drops them to 2-21 overall and 1-11 in the NAC.

Thomas led 16-15 with 12:34 remaining in the first half, but used a 10-0 run, including a pair of Darrell Alexander three-pointers over the next 1:40 to stretch the lead to 11. Castleton was able to cut the lead to 41-37 with 2:48 remaining, but the Terriers closed out the half on an 11-4 run to take an 11-point lead into intermission.

Castleton scored the first four points of the second half, but its was as close as the Spartans would come as Thomas used a balanced scoring attack to pull away.

Alexander led the Terriers with 19 points off the bench, while Shawn Rodgers added 18 points and 18 rebounds, Andrew Duncanson chipped in 18 points as well. Michael Burchill and Travis Pettus rounded out the Terriers in double figures with 11 each.

Camereon Bodine scored 13 points to lead the Spartans, while Kevin Cayea and Marcus Hass each had 12. Mat Roulier and Rubin Jennings chipped in 11 and nine off the bench respectively.
