Box Score Castleton, VT - The Castleton State College men's basketball team dropped a 93-66 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match-up with visiting Thomas College Friday night at Glenbrook Gymnasium.
Thomas raced out to a 53-27 halftime lead thanks to a 21-of-36 (58%) performance from the field and a 7-for-10 showing from beyond the three-point arc. Isaiah Brathwaite scored all 14 of his points in the first half, including 4-of-5 from three-point range to lead the Terriers to the early lead.
Cameron Bodine tried to shoot the Spartans back into the game, scoring 17 of his team-high 19 points in the second half, but they could not overcome the early deficit.
Shawn Rodgers scored a game-high 21 points and hauled in 17 rebounds, including 10 offensive to lead the 8-7 (5-2 NAC) Terriers. Andrew Duncanson added 14, Mike Ross 13 and Michael Burchill 12 off the bench.
Kevin Cayea and Seth Harrington rounded out the Spartans in double-figures with 11 and 10 respectively.
Castleton falls to 2-15 overall and 1-5 in conference play with the loss. Both teams return to action tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 pm, with the Spartans hosting University of Maine-Farmington, and the Terriers traveling to Green Mountain College.
