Castleton wins on the road, 74-62 at Johnson State

Johnson, VT-Joey Farley and Josh Howe combined for 27 first-half points, equaling their opponents' output over that same span, as Castleton State College defeated Johnson State 74-62 in North Atlantic Conference men's basketball action.

Farley struck for four of Castleton six three-pointers in the first half as the Spartans raced out to a 41-27 lead at the break. Farley had 14 of his 17 over the opening 20 minutes, while Howe scored 13 of his game high 20.

Charlie Viana led Johnson State (8-11, 3-4 NAC), which saw a four-game win streaked ended, with 16 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Chris Lamica chipped in with 13 points and Bobby Shedd added 12 points and snatched a game-high 12 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season.

Richard Reilly scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half and dished out five assists as Castleton improved to 11-7 overall and 4-3 in conference play. The Spartans will play host to Wheelock College Friday night at 8:00 pm.
