Box Score Castleton, VT-Rich Reilly poured in a game-high 29 points and dished out five assists, but it was not enough to combat the tough play of Middlebury. The Panthers placed three players in double figures, led by Aaron Smith's 23 points and 9 rebounds.
Jeremy Jorgensen had his second-consecutive double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Alden Gregory chipped in 14 points and five assists off the bench to round out the Spartans in double figures. Middlebury's Ben Rudin scored 20 points of his own on 7-12 shooting, while Tim Edwards dropped 19. Castleton would must several runs in the second half but the Panthers had the answer each time, hitting key baskets to keep the home team at arms length.
With the loss Castleton falls to 1-3 while Middlebury improves to 2-2. The Spartans will travel to Virginia on Saturday to take on Christopher Newport at 4:00, while Middlebury is at home on Thursday to host R.P.I. at 7:30.
