Jessica Trudeau-Signorelli

Jessica Trudeau-Signotelli enters her fourth season as head coach of the VTSU Castleton women’s volleyball program in 2025.

In her third year leading the Spartans, Trudeau guided the team to its best overall record under her leadership, finishing the 2024 season at 10-14. The Spartans showed strong improvement with a winning record at home (6-5) and earned several non-conference victories, including season sweeps over NVU-Lyndon and Norwich, and a five-set victory over SUNY Cobleskill to close the season.

Senior Hailey Martinovich tallied 14 kills in her final game as a Spartan, breaking the all-time record for career kills with 879.

In her second season at the helm, the Spartans went 7-16 overall under Trudeau.

Jessica Trudeau took over the Castleton volleyball program as head coach in July 2022, seeing the Spartans to a 5-20 record.

Trudeau brings an array of coaching experience at all levels to the program, serving as an assistant coach at the collegiate level while coaching 14u and 15u club programs in New York. From 2017-2019, she was the assistant coach at SUNY Adirondack, helping the program to a 51-31 record in that span. She was responsible for recruiting, practice planning, fundraising and strength and condition for the program. In 2021, she took over as the head coach for Lakeside Volleyball Club’s 15u team, coordinating practices, scheduling, skill development, sub patterns, lineups and game-day strategies. She also spent two years as an assistant coach for Adirondack Volleyball Club’s 14u team, teaching fundamentals of the game, organizing drills and fostering a fun, enthusiastic environment for the program.

Trudeau most recently spent time playing volleyball for Castleton, competing in each of the last two seasons for the Spartans, averaging 1.44 kills per set in 29 career matches. She had 26 blocks in 24 matches in 2021 along with five service aces. From 2015-2016, Trudeau played volleyball for SUNY Adirondack, racking up 368 kills (3.13 kills per set) and 369 digs (3.13 digs per set). She was among the NJCAA’s leaders in kills and points per set, and her 67 aces as a freshman were top-20 in the NJCAA. She was named to the Mountain Valley All-Conference team in 2016 and was team MVP that same year.

This isn’t the first time Trudeau has stepped from the court to the sideline in consecutive years, making the same transition from player to coach at SUNY Adirondack in 2017. “I understand this is a unique situation, previously playing with people I am now coaching, but I have done this in the past and have seen success,” said Trudeau. “I formed greater relationships with my players because I understood what they were going through. I see this existing relationship with the women of Castleton volleyball as an advantage in creating a successful program.”

Trudeau wants to continue to build on the strong foundation that has been laid in recent years for the Castleton volleyball program. “My goal for this season is to continue increasing the success of the program by creating a competitive atmosphere. The players and I have the same goal and that is to win volleyball games through hard work and dedication. I am lucky to coach such a talented group who are so passion about the sport of volleyball.”
