Gabriella Hunt

Gabriella Hunt is entering her second season at Castleton as an assistant field hockey coach. Hunt joined the coaching staff in 2021 following a stellar career as a Spartan student-athlete.

In the 2021 campaign, Hunt's first season on the staff, the team posted a 7-11 record while going 5-5 in conference play. Sophomore Emily Harris earned NFHCA Third Team All-American, Little East Conference Rookie of the Year, and NCAA Statistical Champion honors with 30 goals and 64 points in 18 contests. Junior Kaitlin Bardellini joined Harris in conference recognition as an All-LEC Second Team selection and was 18th in the nation with 0.61 assists per game.

Hunt's playing career for the Spartans began in 2017, a season in which she earned North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week recognition twice (Sept. 17th and Oct. 8th) on the way to being crowned the NAC Rookie of the Year. During her sophomore and junior seasons, Hunt brought home All-Little East Conference First Team, All-New England West Second Team, and LEC All-Academic honors. The Granville, N.Y. native's classroom performance in 2019 was worthy of multiple NFHCA laurels as Hunt was named a Division III Scholar, and ZagFH/NFHCA Scholar of Distinction while earning a spot on the organization's National Academic Squad. Despite Hunt's senior year being cancelled due to pandemic concerns, she finished her playing career at Castleton with 101 points, ranking sixth in school history.

Hunt earned a bachelor's degree in Physical and Health Education from Castleton University in 2021 and also works as a physical education teacher.
