Brian Budrow

Brian Budrow enters his second season as the VTSU Castleton Pitching Coach.

Coaching: Spent one season as an assistant coach at the University of Utah in 2013. Worked primarily with pitchers and coached first base. Coached high-level, high school club baseball in Arizona for more than 8 years.

Professional: Drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 28th round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft. Pitched for three seasons in the minors, finishing with a career 15-7 record, 11 saves, a 3.23 ERA, and 144 strikeouts in 164 innings pitched.

College: Began college career at Oregon State University... member of 2006 and 2007 national championship teams. Budrow transferred to the University of Utah in 2008 after spending two years at Oregon State. He was a second-team All-Mountain West Conference pick as a senior in 2009 and helped lead the Utes to the NCAA Tournament that year, finishing as runner-up in the Cal State Fullerton Regional.

High School: Four-time All-State at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Ariz... Arizona Baseball Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2005... twice named Regional Player of the Year and earned four All-Region nods... finished with the 5A state record for career wins (34).

Budrow received a Bachelor of Science in Communications at the University of Utah in 2013. He currently resides in Rutland with his wife, Calista, son, Teddy, and daughter, Wren.
