BENNINGTON, Vt. – Junior Kaylyn Crompton finished first and led the fleet of three Spartan runners who finished in the top-four as the Women's Cross Country team placed second at the Southern Vermont Invitational on Saturday.
Crompton completed the course with a time of 21:33, just over one second faster than Megan Greene who placed second. It is the third consecutive season in which Crompton paced the field in the event. Lydia Maier finished fourth in 23:03.
Mount Saint Mary was first in the team scoring with 29 points and an average time of 23:31.4. The Spartans finished with 32 points with their average of 23:29.4. The Knights had four women who placed in the top ten.
The Spartans will return to action next Saturday when they host the Castleton Invitational at 11 a.m.
