Steve Forrest

Forrest is in his second year as an assistant coach for Castleton Wrestling after spending the previous two years as an assistant for Coach Legacy at Mount Anthony.

Forrest owns an impressive wrestling resume, beginning as as three-time Vermont State Champion under Legacy from 1997-2000. He was a two-time New England Champion, and in 1999 was named both the Frestyle Wrestling Junior National Champion and Greco Wrestling Junior National Champion.

Following high school Forrest chose to serve in the Marines, going on active duty from December of 2003 to August of 2014, where he had tours in both Iraq and Cuba.

During 2010-2011, Forrest was a USA National Team Member and and finished second at the USA Wrestling World Team Trials in 2010. He is also a three-time US Open Championships All-American (2010-2012), as well as the Beach Wrestling National Champion in 2008. In 2009 Forrest was the Armed Forces Greco Champion (2009) and a Military World Championships Qualified from 2009-2011. Additionally he was ranked in the top-eight nationally at the senior level four times.

As a coach, Forrest spent 2008-2012 as the North Caroline Greco Roman Volunteer Coach. During that time he was also the Camp Lejeune Lions Volunteer Assistant Coach. From 2012-2014, he was an assistant coach for the All-Marine Team, before beginning his time at Mount Anthony.
