Joe Duca

Joe Duca has been an assistant coach for the Spartans since the inaugural season in 2016-17. A 2006 graduate of Ithaca College, Duca qualified for nationals three times and was an All-American at 157 lbs as a senior. Duca graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems.
 
As a sophomore Duca earned all-state honors (placing seventh) and was a named an NWCA Scholar All-American. He won his first career tournament title at Millersville's Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic (where Ithaca was the only non-Division I team). He was also a place-winner at RIT (second) and Roger Williams (fourth). He ranked second on the team in wins, takedowns and points.
 
During his final season at Ithaca, Duca won the Williamstown Invitational, the New York State Collegiate Championships (Division I, II and III, and junior colleges) and the Empire 8 Conference Championships. Duca finished his career with a 93-34 record and also earned academic all-American honors.
 
Duca is a Corporal with the Vermont State Police where he is assigned to the Rutland Barracks. Duca also serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO). During his tenure with the State Police, Duca was on the K9 Team and Search & Rescue Teams.
 
Duca attended South Brunswick High School in New Jersey where he earned four varsity letters in wrestling and two in cross country. While in high school, Duca competed for Team New Jersey in both Freestyle and Greco Roman.
