Jeff Whitesell


Jeff Whitesell has been an assistant coach for the Castleton wrestling program since its inaugural season in 2016-17.

Whitesell came to Castleton after working with Coach Legacy at Mount Anthony from 2000 to 2016. He served as a volunteer assistant with the high school team during that span and from 2009-2012 he was the head coach of Mt. Anthony’s middle school wrestling team. Whitesell has coached at all levels to include Youth, Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity while at Mt. Anthony. Whitesell also served on the board of directors of the Catamount Wrestling Club from 2006-2014.? ?

Whitesell is a 1987 graduate of Norwich University with B.S. in Business Administration and joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve while in school and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class. Whitesell has worked in law enforcement since his graduation, working as a police officer in Bennington, Wilmington and Manchester and then as a District Inspector for the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles before being named Chief of the Winhall Police and Rescue Department in Winhall, Vermont, where he served from 1997 until his retirement in 2020.? ?

Whitesell is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 210th Session and life member for the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Whitesell is also presently employed as a Law Enforcement Consultant where he remains connected nationally within law enforcement.
