Karl Linden enters his first season as the graduate assistantfor Castleton’s men’s hockey team in 2014. Linden is a2011 graduate of Elmira College with a degree in public affairs,and recently, spent time as a professional hockey player in theUnited States.
During his professional career, Linden played as a defensemanfor the Evansville Icemen, Wichita Thunder and Arizona Sundogs. Healso played in Sweden’s First Division with the Arlanda Wingsand the Sollentuna Ice Hockey Club, earning rookie of the yearhonors with Sollentuna.
The former defenseman spent also time with the Bradford Rattlersin the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League, earning the League BestDefenseman and League MVP awards during his tenure.
With Elmira, Linden was a four-year member of the hockey team,scoring 19 goals and recording 60 assists in 103 games. He earnednumerous accolades for his play including being named to the ReebokDivision III All-American team as well as the ECAC All ConferenceFirst and Second teams.
A native of Sundbyberg, Sweden, Linden has previously helpedoperate and coach youth hockey camp and organizations in Sweden,New York and Onatrio.
