Ben Bugge joined the Vermont State University Castleton men's ice hockey program in October 2023 following a stint as head varsity coach of the Marlboro-Holmdel joint high school squad in New Jersey.

Before coming to the Green Mountain State, Bugge taught business at Marlboro High School while leading the boys' ice hockey team and assisting the boys' lacrosse program. In addition to his scholastic roles, Bugge coached in the Mercer Chiefs youth organization alongside Spartan alumnus Ross Carmichael. The West Windsor, N.J. native also has extensive officiating experience, holding a Level 4 referee certification through USA Hockey.

Bugge is a 2016 graduate of Michigan State where he received a B.A. in Business.
