Spartans

Brian Hill was named the head coach of the Castleton golf program prior to the 2015 season.

In 2023, Hill led the Spartans to the Little East Conference tournament once again, with a 3rd place finish in their 4th tournament apperance. 

In 2022, Hill led the Spartans to their second consecutive Little East Conference runner-up finish, with two student-athletes landing All-LEC recognition after finishing tied for third place on the individual leaderboard. In 2021, Castleton finished second on its home course in the first-ever Little East Conference Men's Golf Championship. Nick Ojala earned All-LEC honors with a third-place finish at Rutland Country Club under Hill's guidance.

In 2019, Hill coached Castleton to a fourth-place finish in the North Atlantic Conference Championship. Jacob Erwin earned First Team All-NAC honors and Nick Ojala finished with Second Team All-NEC recognition. Castleton also finished fourth in 2018, highlighted by Nick Ojala earning NAC Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-NAC honors.

In his first two tournaments in charge, the Spartans captured back-to-back first-place finishes at the Johnson St. and Newbury College Invitationals. Later in the year, he helped the squad capture a third-place finish at the North Atlantic Conference Championship, with three different golfers earning All-Conference recognition.

Hill is no stranger to the game, having played competitively for over 25 years. He’s currently a member at Rutland Country Club, also Castleton’s home course. In addition to golf, Hill is an avid hockey fan and as served as a coach from youth leagues to high school in the Rutland area.
