Bardellini Named LEC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – After posting big numbers in an unbeaten week, Castleton field hockey's Kaitlin Bardellini was named the Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending in September 22.

The forward earns her first Rookie of the Week honor after scoring three goals in the Spartans' 6-0 victory over LEC foe Framingham State on Saturday, September 21.

The freshman from Northfield, N.H., has scored a goal in three of her first six career games while recording two multi goal games. Bardellini leads all LEC freshman with three goals and seven points.

Bardellini, who has been one of the main offensive weapons for the Spartans this season, is scoring on 25 percent of her shots and is second to only Gabriella Hunt in goals scored and points on the team.

Castleton will play two road games this coming week, traveling to Keene State on Wednesday before facing off with UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday. Castleton and Keene State will take the field in a rematch of the 2018 LEC Championship, a game in which Keene State won, 2-1.
