CLINTON, N.Y. -- The Vermont State University Castleton women's cross country team finished eighth at the Hamilton Short Course Invitational on Saturday morning. 

Castleton placed eighth out of 11 teams with a team average of 17:42.9. Lanza Bellomo led the Spartans in 49th place with a time of 16:52.0, followed by Karsyn Bellomo in 54th at 17:02.3. 

Gillian Robb placed 65th with a time of 17:12.8, while Halle Christian finished 76th in 17:48.3. 

Ariana Reynolds took 96th with a time of 19:39.1, followed by Tori Behrendt in 105th at 20:49.3. Jane Trowbridge rounded out the Spartans' finishers in 111th place with a time of 24:15.8. 

VTSU Castleton returns to action Saturday, Sept 26 at 11 a.m. at the Fairgrounds Showdown, hosted by RPI.
