RIPTON, Vt. — The Castleton men's Nordic skiing team wrapped up the opening day of the Mansfield Divisional Championship at the Rikert Nordic Center Saturday.
Antonio Mannino (44:55) took home a team-best 21st-place finish out of 70 skiers. Braydon Jourden earned the 44th spot, completing the course in 50:43. In 57:31, Shawn Allen finished with a 61st-place time. Boniface Ndikumwenayo (1:07:27) and Kristupas Merkelis (1:10:06) brought home 66th and 68th, respectively. The Spartans scored 86 points, good for seventh place among the eight qualifying squads.
Aidan Ripp of Paul Smith's took top prize in the 15K, helping the Bobcats to first place in team competition as well. PSC's Nate Livengood and Emil Graf of Cornell rounded out the podium.
The Spartans are back for the Classic Team Sprint event tomorrow, February 12 at 10:15 a.m.
