Box Score WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Castleton men's hockey team hit the road for a matchup with No. 14 Babson College Friday night, falling 7-0 to the reigning NEHC Champions.
The Spartans (5-14-0, 3-9-0 NEHC) were outshot 30-19 in the contest — their second lowest shot total of the season — and won just 18-56 faceoffs.

Josh Ward both saw time in goal, combining for 23 saves in the loss.
Castleton traded opportunities with the Beavers (13-6-2, 8-4-2 NEHC) in the game's opening five minutes, trailing 5-4 in shots before it was the hosts breaking open the scoring with a goal at the 12:11 mark. A second score three minutes later doubled Babson's lead and sent the Spartans into the first break down 2-0.
Castleton began to find their offense on the powerplay after falling behind 3-0 a minute into the second, rifling off eight shots in just over a minute, but none got past the Beavers' Nolan Hildebrand. Instead, it was Babson striking once again to make it 4-0 after 40 minutes.
A trio of goals from Babson in the final stanza put Castleton behind 7-0 and handed the Spartans their second largest loss of the season.
Castleton will look to bounce back Saturday, January 28 when they go for the season sweep over Southern Maine. Puck drop for the rematch is at 4 p.m.
