Women’s Cross Country Places Fifth at Bruce Kirsh Cup

HOPKINTON, N.H. — The Castleton women's cross country team came in fifth place at Saturday's 10th Annual Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup hosted by Franklin Pierce.

The Spartans were led by Bethany Davis who completed the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds course in 21:39.6 for 17th place. Amber Cuthbert followed in 23rd with a time of 22:48.0. Eden Goldstein took 31st place, finishing in 24:30.4. Also factoring in for the Spartans were Charlotte Morrison (36th, 27:06.0) and Trinity Lynch (42nd, 28:58.9).

Placing first in team scoring was Southern Connecticut State, placing all six runners in the top 10 for 20 points. Assumption (53) and Franklin Pierce (60) were neck-and-neck, finishing second and third. LEC foe UMass Boston (116) came in fourth while the Spartans (138) led sixth-place finisher NHTI (156).

Peri Snow from Assumption edged out SCSU's Briana Grecco to win the 42-runner field. Grecco was joined by five Owl teammates to round out the top six finishers.

The Spartans begin postseason action on Saturday, October 29 at the Little East Conference Championships in Boston, Mass.
