PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Taking part in their first away meet of the season, the Castleton women's cross country team finished second in a two-man race between the Spartans and Plattsburgh State Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore
Eden Goldstein once again paced Castleton's runners, earning a team-best eighth place finish with a time of 22:21 (7:12 mile time). Close behind Goldstein though was teammate
Amber Cuthbert, who came in ninth after shaving her time from 24:37 at last week's Castleton Invitational all the way down to 23:20 (7:31 mile pace) Friday.
Also improving from last week's season-opener were
Annika Saunus and
Taylor Ross, who finished in 12
th and 15
th with times of 23:55 (7:42 mile time) and 25:33 (8:14 mile time respectively. Both runners shaved off over a minute from the Castleton Invitational, and will look to keep improving as the season progresses. Rounding out the scoring for the Spartans was
Charlotte Morrison (17
th — 28:58) and
Myra Castleton (18
th — 30:50).
Next up for the Spartans is a trip to Massachusetts where they will participate in the UMass. Dartmouth Invitational Saturday, Sept. 18. The race is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
