RANDOLPH, Vt. – The Castleton women's cross country team took an in-state trip to compete in the Vermont State Meet Friday afternoon.
After missing the team's last invitational, sophomore
Eden Goldstein once again led all Spartans in the 5K, earning a team-best 11th place finish with a time of 22:33 (7:15 mile time). Goldstein finished just outside the top-10, crossing the line four seconds behind the 10
th place runner from Saint Michael's College.
Following closely behind Goldstein were freshmen
Amber Cuthbert and
Tatiana Tobolka. Cuthbert crossed the line in 13
th with a time of 23:05 (7:26 mile pace), while Tobolka finished in 17
th with a time of 24:22 (7:51 mile time) in her first race of the season.
Rounding out the scoring for Castleton was
Charlotte Morrison who finished in 19
th with a season-best time of 27:1, and
Myra Castleton who crossed the line in 21
st with a time of 27:22.
The Spartans are back in action Saturday, Oct. 16 when they head to Springfield, Mass. to compete in the Western New England Invitational. The women's race is scheduled to start at 10:30 A.M.
