Just before the end of the period, the Continentals took back the lead on a beautiful one-timer goal set up by freshman forward Nick Brunette (Chaska, MN).

Amherst extended its lead midway through the second period on the power-play.

Jamie Hawkrigg (Waterdown, Ont.) blasted a slapshot behind Hollinger at 12:09 for a 3-1 advantage, his third goal of the season. Keith Nelson (Manalapan, NJ) tallied his second assist of the game on the score.

The Continentals put the game to bed at 18:26 of the third period as Brunette scored an empty net goal to make it 4-1 and secure the win.
