Plattsburgh, NY - The Castleton State College men's ice hockey team fell 3-0 to host Plattsburgh State University in the championship game of the Cardinal Classic.
Plattsburgh, ranked #1 in the latest USCHO.com poll, received a pair of second period goals, and tacked on an empty-netter late in the third period to earn its 11th win of the season. The Cardinals remain unbeaten at 11-0-2, while Castleton evens its record at 5-5.
Dan Silasis netted the game-winner just 1:52 into the second period off assists from Eric Satim and Dylan Clark. Joey Wilson scored his ninth of the season a little less than six minutes later to give the Cardinals some breathing room.
Seth McNary took his first career loss in between the pipes, stopping 22 shots. Plattsburgh's Bryan Hince stopped 19 shots in earning his 11th win of the season.
Castleton returns to ECAC East action on January 6 with a hime match up versus Skidmore College starting at 7:00 pm. The game can be viewed live on the web, by visiting the following website.
