New London, CT-Stuart Stefan scored one goal and added on assist to lead Castleton State College to a 3-1 conference win at Connecticut College in men's ice hockey action.
The Spartans improved to 4-9-1 overall and 2-5-1 in ECAC East play, and were a perfect 7-7 in penalty killing situations.
Trevor Badley tallied Conn. College's lone goal, as the Camels fell to 2-8-3 (2-4-2 NESCAC).
Travis Martell opened the scoring 8:59 into the second period as Castleton converted on a power-play opportunity, assisted by Matt Link and Stefan. Stefan converted the game winner with just under five minutes remaining in the period, his sixth of the season.
Evan Romeo found the net for an insurance tally 2:40 into the final period as Castleton earned the victory.
Jay Seals stopped 23 shots in his first win of the season. Greg Parker made 27 saves in the loss.
Castleton returns to the ice Saturday, January 19 at Tufts University, a 3:30 pm face-off is scheduled.
