Castleton falls to New England College 3-0 in ECAC East action

Henniker, NH-Castleton was held scoreless in a 3-0 losss at the hands of New England College to suffer their first loss of the season. After a scoreless first period, the Pilgrims scored a pair in the second and one in the third to earn the win.

NEC's Anders Lusth (Sr., F, Sandviken, Sweden) got the game-winner for the Pilgrims with a score at 3:12 in the second period. He was assisted by Dallas Hand (So., F/D, Spruce View, Alberta) and Andrew Riddell (Fr., D, Nanaimo, BC). The Pilgrims were not done as they got a second goal at 12:11 in the second, when Mike Carmody (Jr., F, Falmouth, ME) converted a pass from Trevor Turner (Fr., D, Westbank, BC) and Mike Mullen (Jr., F, Pittsburgh, PA).

The Spartans could not manage a score as NEC's Mickey Serra (Jr., F, Coral Springs, FL) sealed the deal at 4:51 in the third period, assisted by Joe Garofalo (Jr., D, Concord, NH). NEC walked away with the 3-0 shutout victory. Pilgrim goalie Matt Lyons (Fr., GK, Langley, BC) totaled 32 saves, while CSC goalie Jeff Swanson (So., GK, Grand Haven, MI) made 27 stops for the Spartans.
