CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University women's cross country team outpaced the competition as it took the top four spots to finish first at the Castleton Invitational.
Senior Kaylyn Crompton took home first place to help lead the team to a first-place team finish. Crompton outpaced the entire field as she won the event for the third time in four seasons. Her five-kilometer time of 21:50 (7:02 mile time) was over a minute faster than fellow teammate Giselle Rainville. Rainville, competing in her first season with the team, finished second with a time of 23:06 (7:26 mile time).
Women's cross country returns to action as it travels to North Dartmouth, Massachusetts to compete in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 21. The women's race is set to start at 12 p.m.
