SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Kaylyn Crompton earned All-Conference recognition with a 10th-place finish as the women's cross country team was seventh at the Little East Conference Championships on Saturday.
The former NAC Rookie and Runner of the Year earned the final spot on the All-Conference team in Castleton's first year in the LEC as the conference recognized each of the top-10 to the All-Conference team.
Keene State won the team championship with a trio of top-ten finishes. All five of the Owls' scoring runners placed in the top-30.
Emily Greene checked in at 49th and junior Emily Maier crossed the finish line close behind and placed 53rd to round out the Spartan scoring. Two runners later, Ashley Darrell checked in and placed 55th overall.
Keene State ran away with the team championship with 54 points. Eastern Connect was the closest contender and finished with 62 points. Rhode Island College, the host, was third with 84 points. They were followed by Plymouth State (98 points), UMass Dartmouth (123 points) and Southern Maine (135 points). Western Connecticut State followed Castleton with 244 points.
Castleton will compete next at the New England Regional on Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.
