Women's Cross Country Concludes Season at New England Region Championships

GORHAM, Maine – The Castleton women's cross country team concluded its season on Saturday afternoon as the Spartans competed in the New England Division III Regional Championship at the Gorham Country Club hosted by Southern Maine.

Castleton finished 45th as a team out of 56 squads competing in the six-kilometer regional race. Kaylyn Crompton led the way for Castleton with a time of 23:37.8 to place 118th overall out of 393 competitors. Miranda Messeck placed 244th after crossing the line in 25:11.1, while Lydia Maier placed third on the Spartan squad and in 295th overall with a time of 26:04.2.

Rachael Emery and Megan Greene placed back-to-back with respective times of 27:07.8 and 27:11.7, just ahead of teammate Adrienne Toof, who earned a time of 28:36.3.

Behind three top 10 finishers, MIT captured the regional title with 58 points. Tufts placed second with 92 points, while Williams took third with 106 points. Middlebury (113) and Bates (150) rounded out the top five in the regional.
