Women's Cross Country Competes in UMass-Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Castleton University women's cross country team competed in the five-kilometer UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday morning.

Kaylyn Crompton led the Spartans to the finish line with a 28th-place finish out of 299 runners from each NCAA Division. The sophomore earned a time of 19:19.06, just eight seconds away from a top 20 placement.

Miranda Messeck placed second on the squad with a time of 21:54.41, just ahead of teammate Megan Greene's time of 22:23.97. Lydia Maier followed closely with a time of 22:43.60, while Ali Nelson clocked in at 23:57.14 to finish fifth on the team.

Bethany Alvarez and Adrienne Toof crossed the line with respective times of 24:53.81 and 26:02.66, while Eleanor Baldauf followed closely with a mark of 29:05.29.

The Spartans will return to action Saturday, Sept. 30, for the Vermont State Meet at Middlebury College at 12:30 p.m.
